“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine.

Expected Publication: April 2, 2013
Sybella arrives at the convent’s doorstep half mad with grief and despair. Those that serve Death are only too happy to offer her refuge—but at a price. Naturally skilled in both the arts of death and seduction, the convent views Sybella as one of their most dangerous weapons.
But those assassin’s skills are little comfort when the convent returns her to a life that nearly drove her mad. Her father’s rage and brutality are terrifying, and her brother’s love is equally monstrous. And while Sybella is a weapon of justice wrought by the god of Death himself, He must give her a reason to live. When she discovers an unexpected ally imprisoned in the dun geons, will a daughter of Death find something other than vengeance to live for?
This heart-pounding sequel to Grave Mercy serves betrayal, treachery, and danger in equal measure, bringing readers back to fifteenth century Brittany and will keep them on the edge of their seats.
Why can’t I wait for this one? Well, I adored, loved, and mega-hearted the first book… and I’m currently reading Throne of Glass, so you could say I’m on an assassin kick right now? But I’m interested in Sybella having her own book, because she was just slightly Mademoiselle CrazyPants in Grave Mercy. As in, no-sudden-movements kind of crazy… and I want to know what drove her to the edge of sanity. Her family certainly sounds lovely, eh?

Expected Publication: February 5, 2013
Katarina Bishop and W.W. Hale the fifth were born to lead completely different lives: Kat comes from a long, proud line of loveable criminal masterminds, while Hale is the scion of one of the most seemingly perfect dynasties in the world. If their families have one thing in common, it’s that they both know how to stay under the radar while getting—or stealing—whatever they want.
No matter the risk, the Bishops can always be counted on, but in Hale’s family, all bets are off when money is on the line. When Hale unexpectedly inherits his grandmother’s billion dollar corporation, he quickly learns that there’s no place for Kat and their old heists in his new role. But Kat won’t let him go that easily, especially after she gets tipped off that his grandmother’s will might have been altered in an elaborate con to steal the company’s fortune. So instead of being the heir—this time, Hale might be the mark.
Forced to keep a level head as she and her crew fight for one of their own, Kat comes up with an ambitious and far-reaching plan that only the Bishop family would dare attempt. To pull it off, Kat is prepared to do the impossible, but first, she has to decide if she’s willing to save her boyfriend’s company if it means losing the boy.
I absolutely loved Ally Carter’s quirky Heist Society books! Will we find out Hale’s full name? Will they officially declare themselves? SO….sooooooo excited for this book! =)!
So what are you looking forward to this week?
I’m really excited for Perfect Scoundrels! Need some more Hale. I never finished Grave Mercy. Got kind of bored but always meant to pick it back up and try again sometime.
My WOW
I still need to read Uncommon Criminals! But I guess I still have a little time to catch up 😉
Grave Mercy was right up my alley because I love history and fantasy, and I thought LaFevers did the history part really well, without it being dull and drudging. I hope you do give it another go at some point! Thanks for stopping by!
I loove Heather’s pick and cannot wait for this book! I love the Heist Books and this one sounds absolutely great.. Oh Hale! Love that boy!
Hale is pretty yummy
And I love the idea that he’s the mark in this newest book. Thanks for visiting, Danny!
LOVE the first His Fair Assassins book (also love writing out His Fair Assassins – I’m aware I’m completely weird but it just rolls off the fingertips;)
I loved Ismae, she was such a strong loving character and I also totally fell for Gavriel. BUT despite only seeing Sybella for just a few pages, I was so so intrigued by her. YOu can tell she’s got real issues that are tormenting her, and for some reason that’s still going on. I so want to see her happy:)
It does kinda roll off the fingertips, doesn’t it? lol
And yeah, you’re right, though we only get a brief glimpse of Sybella in GM, she does make quite the impression. CAN’T WAIT! (<– obviously. lol)
What’s cool is that Sybella played some part in the plot in the end though she never got to actually talk to Sybella!! I wonder if that will be explained in the next one:)
Yes. I’m really hoping she does explain it
I’m PSYCHED for Perfect Scoundrel! LOVE the Heist Society series too! 😀 (I’m also curious the W.W in W.W.H stands for;))
Fara @ Tumbling In Books
Yeah, I’m crossing my fingers that we’ll finally get the answer to that most burning of questions. lol
lol @ Mademoiselle CrazyPants. Dark Triumph sounds deliciously dark and killer-ish though, so, yum. I definitely have to hit up my HMH source for that one.
I haven’t read a single Ally Carter book, I don’t think. I’m pretty sure I should be ashamed. I think just on principle I should pick up the Heist books and give them a try, they really sound good.
Great picks, Dani and Heather!
Yeah, I’m really hoping they’ll put Dark Triumph on NetGalley at some point like they did Grave Mercy.
And Heist Society is just super cute and a super fast read when you need something a little lighter. Kind of like a teen White Collar meets Ocean’s Eleven
I almost started Grave Mercy but I thought it might be fun to wait and read both books together so I am waiting with you =) Awesome picks this week =)
Our WoW for the week =)
Completely understandable! However, it looks like each book will be about a different sister assassin, so each story comes to a conclusion… if you’re worried about cliffhangers.
I can’t wait for “Dark Triumph”. Everything in my world will have to stop until I have finished the book.
Agreed. 😀
Both books sound really awesome and have brilliant covers. I love the Heist Society series, and I’ve been meaning to pick up Grave Mercy for a while now. Great picks!!
The Heist books are fun, and yes, do read Grave Mercy. It’s fabulous!
Thanks for visiting!
I am so excited for Dark Triumph, too!
Yay!

Yay
Thanks for dropping in, Ellen!
I’m a little ashamed to say that I’m a little behind in both series (Well, for Grave Mercy it’s more like I haven’t read it yet, even though I own a copy). I really to start Grave Mercy soon. Great picks!
Em @ A Beautiful Madness
