So here are the books I read/listened to this week…
Finnikin of the Rock was alright, but I never quite liked Finnikin or Evanjalin. I found them interesting, but I never connected with either one. Also, the writing style felt very emotionally distant and I figured out the plot twist very, very early on. It was interesting however, and kept me reading/listening. (Side note: The narrator for this audiobook didn’t float my boat. I ended up giving up on the audiobook and finished the book on my Kindle.)
Unspoken <– Loved. This book is a gothic mystery set in a small English town, and surprisingly it’s very funny. It also does a fantastic job of exploring just what it would mean if you were psychically connected to someone else. Is what you feel real? Who are you without them? How hard it is to keep certain thoughts to yourself. The utter lack of privacy. It’s a fantastic book, and I think everyone should read it.
This coming week I’ll attempt to read, or rather, listen to…
We had a busy week of crazy fun, so I didn’t get as much read as I would have liked but I did get to read some super fun reads so I guess that counts, right? =) Here’s my list:
This week I am so torn about what to read. Yikes. Choosing my next read is always the hardest part but I’m going to try anyway!
Here’s my plan anyway:
What are you reading this week?
Daughter of Smoke and Bone is the BEST audio book. I hope you like it !
@Dani: Hope you enjoy Daughter of smoke and bone and The iron king. I did! And good with PTL, I want to read it, soon.
@So, you read The lost prince?? Yay!!! I have it now, and I’m dying to read it!
