Welcome to the Release Day Giveaway for
The Boy Recession
by Flynn Meaney
This book is all kinds of hilarious and adorable with lovable, identifiable characters and laugh-out-loud dialogue. It’s not an epic, do-or-die romance. It’s not the end of the world. It’s not robots, tyrannical empires or monsters-in-the-closet. It’s teens being teens, and their fun and funny adventures (and misadventures) in the social microcosm of their high school. In short, The Boy Recession is perfect summer beach read.

It’s all about supply and demand when a high school deals with the sudden exodus of male students. The boy recession has hit Julius P. Heil High, and the remaining boys find that their stock is on the rise: With little competition, even the most unlikely guys have a good chance at making the team and getting the girl. Guitar-strumming, class-skipping Hunter Fahrenbach never wanted to be a hot commodity, but the popular girls can’t help but notice his unconventional good looks. With a little work, he might even by boyfriend material. But for down-to-earth Kelly Robbins, the boy recession is causing all sorts of problems. She has secretly liked her good friend Hunter for a while now, but how can she stand out in a crowd of overzealous Spandexers? As if dating wasn’t hard enough without a four-to-one ratio!

high school crush… uhhh… well he had this ruffled hair plus glasses… really geeky charm and was also into sports… gosh what an awesome mix *_* (but long time ago ^^)
He loved animals and was really a great reader and was kind to everyone and kinda geeky:)
Thanks so much:)
He was a boy, who unlike all the other boys, wasn’t mean. He didn’t make fun off the disabled kids in our class. He was sweet, actually talked to me, and was smart.
He was a boy with the biggest heart. lol He kept to himself and had a gorgeous body and gah, he was so sweet. Not what you would expect. lol
Smart kid, played sports, involved in FCA, so so so cute!
Oh wow, I haven’t thought about my high school crush in a while, but it was his dark hair and blue eyes that I crushed on.
He had a girlfriend…hmph.
But he was a silent guy with these cute black rimmed glasses. And he played the violin.
We knew each other since we were in first grade, but as we grew up we went down different paths. I think I imagined him to be the person he was when he was younger or at least had the potential to not be the bad boy he became. After we graduated he told me that our senior year he had this massive crush on me mostly because I never judged him for always getting in trouble. Of course 2 weeks before I graduated I started dating my 1st boyfriend that I was with for almost 5 years. It’s funny to look back on that stuff.
he was a cute boy who played sports and liked to flirt. and i fell for it. So glad that’s over 😉
I’d known his since junior high. He was so easy going and nice. Smart and athletic.
Blond hair, big biceps, was a football star and very smart and was also my brothers friend.
Yeah… I’m starting high school in a month.
Uhh…I’m a year from high school…I’m super young for a blogger, a few months into 13, but right now most of the guys in my grade are pretty unattractive but hey, maybe they’ll be different when I got back to school in a month 😉
He’s one of the few guys in school that actually says hi to me and doesn’t say something stupid a moment later.
Mine was a theater boy who made me laugh. I later learned he’s gay, LOL.
My High School crush was also my Jr High crush and we dated a little but he was the bad / jock type and he was a hottie back in my day we grew up to become best friends great giveaway
I’m in high school now, my freshman crush was like half my height with eyes I could never tell what color they were (some sort of hazel I guess), and a swimmer. He was sweet and always let me win the races.
He’s on almost all the sport teams, is smart, and could always make you laugh.
my hs bf was and ened upmyhubby after i got of school i got out yearahead of him becuse i had a baby and then we moved into his apt amd then live there for while and thenmy mom scredit for us
I have a weakness for gingers. That is all.
Oh gosh. He had this smile that made you want to smile too. It’s like it lit up the room, you know? He was really into music & a total dork & the sweetest goofiest guy I’ve ever met.
Whenever I looked at him it felt like my stomach dropped to my butt and I was gonna puke out my hearts and lungs
Cool, spiky hair with bluest eyes! Was also very outdoorsy and loved animals! Kind-hearted!
Thanks,
Leanne
I had crushes on a few of the football players.
He had beautiful blue/green eyes and I really adored his ginger curly hair.
My high school crush was the new kid my freshman year. He was super cute and very nice. He was even charming and he always talked to me and listened to my boy problems. He looked like a nice boy next door on the outside, but was really kind of a bad boy. I ended up finally snagging him and dating him myself and we have been together for 6 years this September =D
I know you’re all saying “Awww…” lol
Thanks for the giveaway!! I really hope I win, because this sounds like an AWESOME book!!

He was a water polo player with gorgeous blue eyes.
It was definitely his car. He had a Corvette. That plus the fact he was gorgeous himself…..I didn’t stand a chance……was crazy about him.
Thanks for the giveaway.
I remember him so clearly. 3 years spent crushing on this guy. He was a year ahead, football player but not the jerk football player. dark hair dark eyes, great smile. We were friends but never anything more.
I was 15 and he had the most beautiful face I had ever seen. He was two years ahead of me. I don’t think I ever told anyone that I had a crush on him!
I dated the same guy all through high school. He was the star football/baseball player, but he was a really sweet guy. We dated for about 4 years. He had a great butt. LOL
LOL…which one? They tended to be quiet, incredibly smart, respectful of women, and shy. Something about those shy boys was so very alluring!
I’m just not even going to go there…
To give my age away… Small private school, new guy, hot, it was the time of Vanilla Ice – and he was called Vanilla Mike, ‘nough said
He was always generous and kind, a great people person and fabulous dancer. Not to mention a star on the school football team took as all the way to state championship (we lost
) for the first time in over 60 years!
It was the mohawk!
My high school crush was just too cute, tall and blonde. Awesome bball player. Gorgeous smile, and his eyes were just beautiful. He was funny. But, in the end, turns out he was bit of a jerk. After him, I met and dated the best guy in the whole world!
He was in choir and played the piano for our school plays. He was nerdy and shy and the sweetest boy I’d ever met.
It’s funny how things change. In high school I was all about cowboys. I grew up in Small Town, Texas and nothing was sexier than watching my high school sweetheart break in a horse!
Now, I like guys who would maybe be seen as weird. Skater types. LOL!
My high school crush was really, really smart and kind of shy. He was also super sweet and generous. He was good looking in a understated way… a boy-next-door type. And TALL! I like ’em tall. Hee hee. Too bad I was too shy to act on the crush… my loss.
You know, I went through the boy-crazy stage BEFORE highschool, and didn’t like another guy until my first year of college… So in my preteen years there was this tall dark and handsome boy, who happened to be my best friend’s brother. He was 4 years older than me, a total bad boy, and completely and utterly off limits. He was tall, lean, and still very muscular…he made music in his room and sang like John Mayer. He’s still making music these days and I’m pretty sure he’s on iTunes… In any case…then I discovered he was learning French and pretty much died of happiness. Plus he had this gorgeous dark wavy hair that always stopped my heart a little. AND he liked to read. So, yah. He was amazing. I will always remember those four years in which I was head over heals for this guy. 😀
I liked the nerd who was also super sweet and cute and funny.
Oh gosh, I had SO many crushes in high school! lol The first one that comes to mind was this really popular football player, but he was the opposite of the stereotypical jock – he was nice to EVERYONE, including me (I was basically invisible to most boys), and he was so cute and smart and funny.
Very very sweet, crazy about me, with a gorgeous smile.
I didn’t fall for anyone in high school -__- No one was special for me.
My high school crush was the pastor’s son. He wasn’t anything special. I’d known him my whole life but he just thought of me as a friend.
It was his bad boy nature. He was a rebel nonconformist, & I’m cliche because I ignored everyone’s warnings & paid for it in the end -__-
They were quiet and mysterious and they played a lot of soccer so they were in great shape
Total country boy! Long hair, jeans and tshirt! I remember he ran the mile in under 4 minutes in cowboy boots! We were friends, I never let him know I was crushing on him, but he probably knew. Thanks for the giveaway
Mine IS very similar to yours. Skaterboy with skater floppy hair (although recently he cut it off and has an almost military buzz cut), broad shoulders, pretty muscular (as high school boys go), pretty brown eyes. I’ve knwon/seen him for almost 12 years. I still see him every day. Can’t wait to get out! Last year of high school.
Thanks for the giveaway!
The eyes and the hair. Gotta love a guy with sexy skater hair. xD
It’s hard to say what it was specifically — probably for the most part it was because he was “off limits” but he was pretty adorable.
