Welcome to the TBR Intervention Challenge!
So, this past week… I did read something that’s been sitting on my Kindle for a few months now. (Go me!) I finally decided to pick up Innocent Darkness by Suzanne Lazear. It promised to be a blend of Steampunkishness and faeries, so I was excited since I love Caitlin Kittredge’s The Iron Thorn. While it was somewhat interesting, I found that overall I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as I hoped I would. I also read Awry by Chelsea Fine, which is a great continuation of the series. Chelsea gives a bigger glimpse into Gabriel, Tristan & Scarlet’s past in this book and that was probably my favorite part. Lastly, I read the first novelette in the Elementals series by Brigid Kemmerer, and it was pretty interesting. I think I’ll be continuing on with those books when I get a chance. I really like the fact that they seem guy-centric (i.e. The main characters seem to be guys, at least from what I can tell in the book blurbs.).
So… what am I reading this week? Well, I’ve got a blogging buddy who’s been patiently waiting for me read his manuscript. So that’s on the agenda this week. Also, I picked up Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo, which I’ve been dying to read for months, so I’m treating myself to a new book this week
This week I finished The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa and started Switched by Amanda Hocking and Legend by Marie Lu. Next week, I’ll finish those two and I’m not sure what’s next for me. I REALLY want to read Arise by Tara Hudson and Dreamless by Josie Angelini…but my library book stack is staring at me accusingly. So, I’m going to be a little noncommital this week.
What are you reading this week?
