1.) Finished Glimmer this past week. Really liked it. It’s weird, it’s creepy, it’s a bit horrifying, it keeps you guessing. If you like a book that keeps you a little off kilter, then this one’s for you. I did finish the review, if you’re interested in reading it… it’s below. Also read Streamline by Jennifer Lane. I don’t normally read contemporaries especially contemps that deal with a lot of heavy issues, but I enjoyed this one a great deal. It’s the story of Leo and his girlfriend Audrey as they navigate through the rough waters their family drama, their relationship and their senior year of high school. It’s page-turning, heartbreaking, but hopeful too. I’m also currently smack in the middle of Pure by Julianna Baggott, which I’m really enjoying.

2.) So… gotta another ARC tour book in this week… The Hunt by Andrew Fukuda I’ve barely been keeping up with my review books as it is let alone something that’s been on my shelf for awhile, so that’s gonna be my TBR pick for this week. Along with a book I’m on a blog tour for this week…. Blood Born by Jamie Manning. Looking forward to both!
So what are you reading this week?
Ooh. So Glimmer is good. I’ve been wondering since I enjoyed Whisper and I was also contemplating reading Pure.
Good luck on this week’s TBRIC books.
Well, I really liked Glimmer. It was weird and different. You should check out Pure. It’s beautifully written, but also harsh and brutal. I’m not sure I could read something like it all the time. Her description of the devastation and human suffering is pretty evocative and shocking at times. You should definitely give it a shot.
Oooh I totally cant WAIT to start the Hunt!!! I haven’t heard very positive things about Pure… :/
Yeah, The Hunt. I’m excited about that one. I think it has real potential… I am on such a dystopian kick lately though. I think I’m due for some extreme fluffiness very soon! lol
Pure. I think you should give it a shot, being such a huge zombie fan. Not that it’s about zombies…at all, but it’s got that same post-apocalyptic, extremely disturbing, gotta-watch-your-back-at-all-times vibe going on. Baggott has a really beautiful writing style too, and her descriptions of people, creatures and settings are fantastically vivid and unsettling.
Oh God! the cover of Streamline is so beautiful!! I’m glad you enjoyed it! I also think you’ll love Pure is one of my most wanted!
Hope you like The hunt I’m looking for it.
Happy reading!
WOW! The cover of Streamline is just awesome! I love it! I hope you enjoy PURE. It’s actually good, though I hope there’s more romance on it
I’m kind of a romance sucker hehe.
Good luck with your books! The Hunt looks awesome too. I’ve never heard of it until now. I’ll check it out later.
