1.) So. This week. Um… what DID I read this week? Uno momento.
<trots off to check Goodreads>
Ah, yes.
It’s been a loooooong week for some reason, BUT I did manage to read my TBRIC book. (Yay me!) Struck by Jennifer Bosworth was incredibly interesting. It’s about L.A. in the aftermath of a devastating 8.something quake. The situation is desperate, people are fleeing the city, aid is scarce, thousands and thousands of people have died… and the ones who are left are flocking to a man named Prophet who claims he is the Mouthpiece of God, that he alone can grant salvation, and that — yes, folks, you guessed it — the end is nigh. Caught in the middle of this chaos is Mia Price, a girl who has a certain, shall we say, affinity for lightning storms. It’s a fantastic book and if the cultish religiosity doesn’t bug you, you should definitely give it a try. I do not have a full review written yet for Struck, but it’s coming. Soon.
Lastly, I read Slumber by Samantha Young. A really awesome fantasy with an extremely compelling quest and romance. The character of Rogan is absolutely wonderful and Wolfe makes for a mysterious, dashing hero. I love those romances where they start out hating each other… and they have valid reasons for their dislike. It’s, as I said, awesome.

2.) So… this week. I’m finally getting around to Embrace by Jessica Shirvington. My tour date is on Tuesday, and my goal is to have a review to publish in tandem with that. Really looking forward to getting a chance to curl up with it this weekend… been looking forward to this book for a while now.
It starts with a whisper: “It’s time for you to know who you are…”
Violet Eden dreads her seventeenth birthday. After all, it’s hard to get too excited about the day that marks the anniversary of your mother’s death. As if that wasn’t enough, disturbing dreams haunt her sleep and leave her with very real injuries. There’s a dark tattoo weaving its way up her arms that wasn’t there before.
Violet is determined to get some answers, but nothing could have prepared her for the truth. The guy she thought she could fall in love with has been keeping his identity a secret: he’s only half-human—oh, and same goes for her.
A centuries-old battle between fallen angels and the protectors of humanity has chosen its new warrior. It’s a fight Violet doesn’t want, but she lives her life by two rules: don’t run and don’t quit. When angels seek vengeance and humans are the warriors, you could do a lot worse than betting on Violet Eden…
So what are you reading this week?
I’m so glad you liked Struck, I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time! Slumber sounds really good and I love the cover!
Hope you enjoy Embrace, I’ve heard good things about it!
Happy reading!!!
PS: I love your blog design, it’s awesome!!!
I had to go back to goodreads and look at my list to determine what I had read and what reviews I have to get done. The list is almost scary long. LOL
I like the cover of Embrace–beautiful!

You made Struck look even more interesting to me! Thanks Dani for sharing your thoughts. I have SLumber on my kindle and now I want to read it asap. I love books with wonderful characters and great romance. This seems like a good one. I’ve been seeing Embrace for quite a while now… I guess I’ll just wait for your review and decide if I should put it on my TBR. (Oh well, I should knock down some books, not add more.) LOL.
