1.) So. I didn’t get to Embrace this week, so I’m going to read it next week. What I did read this week:
The Mayfair Moon – which is about werewolves and had some interesting lycanthrope mythology and hierarchical/societal values.
A Season of Eden – which revolves around the controversial subject of a student dating a teacher. It was interesting to see some of the psychological reasons a teenager would pursue such a relationship. Before you get too creeped out, she’s 18 and months from graduating and he’s 22 and a newbie teacher.
Of Sun & Moon – which is an original take on the tooth fairy and boogeyman stories.
Hmm… I didn’t realize I’d read books with such coordinating covers this week. Interesting….
2.) So… gonna try for Embrace again. AND I just got When the Sea is Rising Red in the mail. It’s one of my top ten anxiously awaited books of 2012… so yeah. Gonna try to spend some quality time with it this weekend.
After seventeen-year-old Felicita’s dearest friend, Ilven, kills herself to escape an arranged marriage, Felicita chooses freedom over privilege. She fakes her own death and leaves her sheltered life as one of Pelimburg’s magical elite behind. Living in the slums, scrubbing dishes for a living, she falls for charismatic Dash while also becoming fascinated with vampire Jannik. Then something shocking washes up on the beach: Ilven’s death has called out of the sea a dangerous, wild magic. Felicita must decide whether her loyalties lie with the family she abandoned . . . or with those who would twist this dark power to destroy Pelimburg’s caste system, and the whole city along with it.[/box]
So what are you reading this week?
I’m so happy youb got When the sea is rising red. I want that book so bad!
Good luck, hope you enjoy it!
I need to check out some of those books. I haven’t heard of any of them. I need to read Embrace too…for a tour but I just don’t have it in me right now.
Good luck this week!
You sound like me…I got so much reading done but did not even start one of my TBR intervention. Oops.

The Mayfair Moon sounds like my kind of book. Love vampires and werewolves. People usually chose one or the other. I read about anthing with them. Gonna definily read your review.
I just found Rising Red on Goodreads this week and it was my WoW book. I really want to read it!
When the sea is raising red is on my list of “need to know more about” I hope you enjoy it! But, from the books you did read… Of Sun and Moon is definitely interesting.
Glad you got to read that much, even if you didn’t get the title you thought you’d! Hope you enjoy this week…
Happy reading!
Hello Dani! =D
Hehe.. as usual I’m late on my hop again! Anyway, mine seems to be an unsuccessful one but maybe you’re right… I can consider it as a WIN since I knocked out one book even though it took me so long to finish it. I haven’t written a review yet but I hope to do it this week. *sigh…
You’ve read 3 books again! And that’s just WOW! Even though you didn’t get started with Embrace, you knocked out 3 books! Oh my, I feel so overwhelmed when it happens to me (which is rare! lol). I’m jealous that you got When The Sea Is Rising Dead! I have it on my TBR pile and I want it badly too. I’m excited to see your thoughts about it. Good luck!
