1.) So…Aurelia. I did finish it. One book down, one million to go. I was on vacation last week, so I got to finish a few books (YAY!) but now I’m super behind on reviews (BOO!)… and this book is one of them still needing a write-up. I found it entertaining and an interesting mystery, but I wished for more world development and more character depth. Although it was a full-length novel, the story felt a little truncated, perhaps? I dunno. Still pondering this read, and I will review it soon.
2.) My next book that I’m going to commit to read over the next week or two is Dearly, Departed. Yes. I know it just came out, so it hasn’t even been sitting on my shelf long enough to gather dust. I guess, technically, it doesn’t fit the criteria. However, I have been DYING to read this book… dying. So it’s my choice this week, especially since I’m notoriously bad with procrastination and reading the books I really anticipate. For instance, could not WAIT to read Cassandra Clare’s City of Fallen Angels. I made a special trip to Barnes & Noble on its release date JUST to get the copy that had Jace’s letter to Clary tucked inside… and I finally finished it TWO MONTHS later. My reluctance to read books I really look forward to has nothing to do with it being a disappointment. I LOVED City of Fallen Angels. I just didn’t want the book to end, so I took my time. A loooooong time.
Not doing that with this book. Gonna read it right away.
And by the way, my pre-order of this one just came in. It’s so pretty… and HUGE. I didn’t expect this book to be so long, and I’m super excited to start digging into it.
What book are you going to read this week?
I’ve heard so many good comments about Dearly departes, I think you will like it.
Happy reading!!!
I’m really hoping so!
Thank you!
Hi Dani! I still have less than an hour to visit some posts =)
I’m glad that you finished Aurelia. I’ll be waiting for your review! So glad that you enjoyed it… my first TBRIC book sucks (a little). Anyway, I heard lots of good reviews about Dearly Departed. I hope you’ll be able to enjoy it! Good luck with your next book =)
Have A Great Weekend! XOXO!
Hiya girly. Hope you have a good, safe trip. I’m sorry your book sucked, can’t wait to read the review on why. Can’t wait to start Dearly… but I need to write some reviews before I let myself get sucked into another awesome read
I have wanted to read Dearly Departed but haven’t yet. I hope you love it.
