One of my resolutions was to join up with blog tours, so far so good!
As for reading: Just continue grabbing up books that I know I will enjoy, and don’t accept all books that authors come at me with. Go with the gut, and not the heart
Good resolutions! Yeah, I sometimes have trouble with that last one. 😛
I want to read for fun more often – not just for the sake of reviews. I also want to make a nice dent in my TBR pile. Hopefully participial in (and running) the 2014 TBR challenge will help with that!
Oooo… is there a link for this challenge?
<3 Thank you for the amazing giveaway. I did not make any resolution this year.. though I'm going to try to be more healthy
Probably, lol. And read more amazing books. <3
Health + more books = great goals
I completed my goal next year reading 65 books! This year I want to read 100! 😀
CONGRATULATIONS, Frannie! That’s wonderful! Here’s to 100!!!!
Thanks for the giveaway! I am still trying to finish my TBR pile for the new year. 😉
*whispers* Me too.
I sign up for the goodreads challenge. Didn’t make it last year. Not enough reading time. Hope that changes this year :).
Crossing my fingers for you
I didn’t make any. When I do, I never actually succeed in accomplishing them, so I decided not to make any this year. 😀
So you’re practicing reverse psychology on your resolutions? Very tricksy. 😉
This year I’m just doing the Goodreads Challenge and the A-Z Challenge (I got so close to finishing last year). I’m trying not to over extend myself, since I know this year is going to be busy. But I completely agree on needing to read more classics! I think I should try and incorporate that somewhere into my reading for the year as well
Yay! And best of luck on your challenges, Elle!
I definitely want to read more this year. Reading is my fuel
Completely agree.
I just want more time to read ’cause so many awesome books are waiting to be read. Like you, one of NY’s resolution is to read more classics and biographies.
Thanks for a giveaway!
More time…. that would be nice, huh?
And I hope you do get to read more classics and biographies!
I made a goal on Goodreads to read 110 books this year. I also made myself a book jar (actually two: one for print books and one for ebooks – I usually have one of each going at the same time) with 90+ titles in them. I made sure to add in classics, so I don’t bypass over any for the new releases I am dying to read.
Book jar? I wants to know more!
I have never made any resolutions before. But I do want to read all the books on my TBR list and stop adding more. It’s endless! Thank you for the giveaway.
Tell me about it. lol
I did not sign up for any challenges but have set up some resolutions for myself (concerning blogging). I want to focus on requesting only arcs that appeal to me (and not let hype get to me) and read books that have already released.
That’s a fantastic resolution!
One I should make as well.
To read more from the stash of books I already have and to clear up all the backlog on my net galleyaccount.
YES. I hear you on the Netgalley thing 😛
The only resolution I made this year was to read more and blog more because I always seem to fall through with any other resolutions I make.
Good goals!
I set a goal to read my more books from my TBR pile.
Terrific goal!
Hi, Dani. I only joined the Goodreads Challenge this year and my goal is to read 70 books..that’s it.
Hey, 70 books is a big goal! Good luck!
My goal is to read all the books taking up room on my kindle that have been sitting there for a while now.
Yup, yup. Hear ya on that one.
Good luck, Kimberly!
More of a goal than resolution. My goal is to read at least 50 books this year. I’m hoping to be able to write more too. Thanks for the giveaway.
Great goals! Best of luck, Pearl!
i have taken the resolution to avoid adding unnesseray stress on me with blogging ( so challenge yes but at teh lowest level and year long one)
I think that’s great. It’s supposed to be fun, and if it’s stressful, it’s not. I hope you’re able to keep the blogging load light this year
i want read more horror books especialy zombies …but still..i keep reading HR, YA and so on…
thx..
LOL… well, you like what you like! But I totally understand wanting to branch out a little more genre-wise.
My 2013 reading resolutions were to read more classics & to catch up and finish all of those series I’ve started, so on the classics part I did good, but on the series I did awesome, so for 2014 my only resolution is to continue with finishing & catching up on series. Although it’s sad when fav series end, it feels good, too, especially when the series get the finale they deserve
Congrats on meeting last year’s resolutions! That’s awesome. And yes, it is sad when a series ends, and that’s why I put off reading them. lol Good luck, Aleksandra!
Spend a little less time on books on more on school work. Finish books on shelves before getting more new ones… >.>
Best of luck on those resolutions, Lynn!
Read more books and study a little bit more. And also try to clear my TBR shelf 😉
Thanks for the giveaway ^^
Fabulous goals, Rosario & Patricia!
My goal is to only read books I’m enjoying and not waste time on books that aren’t for me.
Hear, hear!
I didn`t make any resolutions.
I hope that you have a fantastic new year, Antonia!
Nope, no resolutions
Best wishes for the new year, Elizabeth
read more, loose weight and doing more exercises!
thanks!
Awesome goals, Oriana!
I’ve decide to read more of contemporary this year, besides other goals.
You know, I’ve recently gotten more into contemporary too. It’s growing on me. Good luck!
Well, but fantasy or dystopian always come along, making those ‘come-hither’ eyes and I get sucked in. Let’s hope I do break tradition this year.
This year I really want to finish up series that I’ve started but haven’t read past the first book!
Oh. I am SO guilty of this. 😛 Here’s to finishing what we start! LOL
I want to read over 100 books and finally start some Jennifer Armentrout books!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Awesome goals, Sarah! And might I recommend her Covenant series? It’s my fave of hers.
I signed up to do the goodreads challenge for 2014. that’s the only thing i committed to bookwise. I do want to try and work on trying to clean off my overflowing bookshelf. I have enough books from previous years to keep me reading for a while.
I love the Goodreads challenge. I hope you make your goal, and make headway on that bookshelf at the same time!
I’d like to read out side of my regular genre; young adult. This year, I want to read more children/ adult/ and classic novels. Thanks for the cool giveaway!
Awesome!
And good luck, Mindy!
I want to read 80 books this year, and not go to the library as often because when I do I neglect my own books.
Fantastic goal! And, oh the library! There has never been a more terribly wonderful thing. lol
still trying to cut my tbr pile in half.
You have my empathy and best wishes. lol
I am trying to cut my TBR (out of the ones I own) pile to 30 books because I have about 50 books I still need to read on my shelf. This also counts books I buy this year too. (:
Oh, the neverending TBR! I hope you’re able to knock a good chunk off of it this year!
The only reading challenge I signed up for is my goodreads challenge and it is for 150 books this year!
Me too! Here’s hoping we both make that 150!
My book resolution is to read all the books I’ve won in the last year…30 plus knock off some of the other books that seem to find their way on my TBR list.
Yup, yup! I hear you on reading those books I already have my shelf. I’m always getting distracted by new shinies. 😛
One of mine is to broaden my horizons a little bit. I read mostly YA, but in the last month or so of 2013 I read a few Adult books, and I really enjoyed them. I am 31 years old, and while I love YA and have no shame about it and will continue reading mostly YA, I feel like I am missing out on some great Adult books. SO, resolution made! Also, to read MY books that I own and try really hard to limit library time. Thanks for the giveaway!
Yes, to both of these resolutions! Especially the books I own one. *guilty face*
I want to find more books that will appeal to my 6th grade students.
Fantastic!
What’s the book you’re recommending to them most right now?
I don’t read as much as I would like to because of my crocheting so I have challenged myself to read 20 books this year
Great goal!
Are you at all an audiobook kind of person? They are my go-to whenever I have a crafty project to work on
My new years resolution is the same one I had last year. To try and request less books and get my own person TBR pile down. So far I am not off to a great start since I I still have blog tours and whatnot from last year signed up until feb so starting in march, I am going to try and read some older books and new release books that I want.
I hear ya on that. I’m hoping to whittle away at my neverending stack too, and definitely try to cut down on the new books coming in, until I clear out some of the ones I already have. I hope come March it’ll be a little less stressful and you can catch up on the books you want to catch up on
That’s a great resolution. I want to cut down on my TBR list and catch up on my ARC list. Thanks for the giveaway
Thanks Ann! Good luck with your resolutions!
My news resolutions with regards to reading is to finish more series on my shelf and to read some more books written by local (Trinidad) authors. Thank you for the giveaway, enjoy your day!
That’s a really cool goal, Isa!
And I hope you have a spectacular day as well!
Don’t really make them
Typically I don’t either, but I thought I’d give it a whirl this year and see how it goes. lol Happy New Year!
I made some for this year. I have actually stopped reading for the last year and a half when I found out my dad was sick. I lost the passion I had to read. So this year I’m back to reading again and told myself that I will read a whole lot more this year. I missed reading so much!!
I’m so sorry that your dad was doing poorly, and it’s understandable how that could could lessen your desire to read. I hope things worked out in your dad’s situation, and I hope you successfully get back into the reading groove!
My new year resolution? I think for me, its to try out new genres I haven’t touched much upon, and to try to make a dent in my never-ending tbr list…
Love it!
My resolution is to read more books on my TBR list.
A fantastic goal!
I do not do resolutions life always gets in the way and I stress myself out! i do want to make more time to read though! with 3 kids it has been hard to find time to read lately.
Understood! I’ve got two adorable minions, and any good reading time usually happens after they’re tucked in bed. I hope you get some kid-free time to enjoy a good book this year!
I’m not going to request more books than I can handle!
Well, joining Goodreads Challenge is a must. And looking back last year, I didn’t quite follow through all the other challenges I joined, so basically no, I didn’t really want to make/join this year. I only join one, that is, the one to read more books on my TBR list. But I challenge myself to start new author and not to bite more than I could chew. I want to read more classic like you, but well, since I started to work this year, I’d prefer the light reading.
Thanks for the giveaway. Goodluck on your reading resolutions!
I haven’t actually made any specific resolutions, but maybe just to do some more rereading of books
My resolution is to do my textbook readings for school
I don’t have a very specific resolution. I want to spend more time in the local library and hopefully knock down my TBR mountain. Thank you for the giveaway!
I entered a bunch of reading challenges this year, but my overarching goal is just to read more than last year and blog regularly about it. I like your goal of reading more classics. There are so many great ones.
I joined a challenge to read 100+ books this year. I also committed to soon get backlog caught up and keep at no longer than two months backlog,
I good reads challenge in 105 and my resolution is to not get caught up in numbers, how many books I read, weight loss, or any of that. Just do my best, be healthy and enjoy what the year brings.
I plann the books I read I usually only review ones that are ask of me to do. I plan on leaving a review on all I read Thanks on reading more and doing reviews o
Just to try to eat healthier. Thanks for the giveaway!
I want to eat healthier, work out and lose some weight, and read at least 100 books this year!
I want to read more.
I would like to read more.
I have been in a total reading funk for the last couple of months and I haven’t been reading much. So for my new years resolution I want to read more books that I actually want to read. Books that are fun and not just read to do it. By the way, thanks for the giveaway! =)
I just want to read more books this year. Thanks a lot for this giveaway!
I just really want to read more books this year and I’ve joined a couple of challenges (NA, YA, review copies). Thanks for the great giveaway!
Aside from my annual GoodReads challenge, my 2014 resolution is to catch up on all the series I read.
Thanks for the amazing giveaway!
elizabeth @ bookattict . com
I haven’t been able to read much lately, but I’m targeting for the three digits again this year. :)) And to be more active on my blog! Thanks for the giveaway, Dani!
One of my book resolutions is to read or reread books before seeing them in movie form. Thanks for the giveaway!
Mainly just to read some of the books that I already have on hand
I want to read more classics this year. I’m hoping for at least twenty
My only goal is to read more books this year than I did last year (100). I’d like to make a serious dent in my reading pile
Thank you!
My goal is to read 100 books.
I didn’t make any resolutions or goals this year, because I’ve realized with an 18 month old my best intentions don’t always pan out. I just hope that I can read more this year than I did last year.
Jennelle J
My goal is to read 100 books this year. Thanks for the great giveaway!
My resolution is to read more, at least 150 books this year!
I want to tackle my TBR pile. I am over run with books LOL!!
No resolutions really, because I forget to keep them anyway.
Hi, thanks for this chance, my goal this year…. go through my reading pile…. it’s so huge….! And I will add some new titles for sure!!!!
Finish writing at least 2 books. Read at least 50.
I wanna read 50 books in 2014 and read more classics 😀
My goal is to read as many books in my TBR pile as I can, because it is huge!
Thanks for the chance to win!
Nah. I didn’t make one I just read what I want to when I want to.
My resolution is just to try and review books right after I read them.
My new year’s resolution is to read more books and find more time to read books somehow.
I want to go back and reread some of my favorite books from my childhood. I also want to try to wrap up any series I need to finish, this year!
I didn’t make any resolutions, since I also seem to fail at them. So I made some firm directional changes instead. I plan to work towards better organizational skills on my blog and regarding my reviews. We’ll see if I can succeed.
Non-bookish goal: to start running.
Bookish goal: like you, I want to read more classics. I’ve loved most of the classics I’ve read in the past, but I get overwhelmed with new releases to read that any classics I want to read end up falling to the bottom of my TBR.
I resolved to make a huge dent in my TBR pile and keep my monthly spending under $20.
Thanks for the giveaway opportunity.
I have to study hard for the Board Exam this year 😀
I joined some book challenges this year and I made my own. I’m part of the Nonfiction, Historical Romance, Witches & Witchcraft and Let Me Count the Ways. I made a Zombie Reading Challenge.
I am trying to finish my TBR pile for the new year.
I didn’t make a resolution. But I always try to read more!
my resolution is to read 100 books this year.
My resolution is to read 50 books like last year. Reading classics is a great one! I have read quite a few for Greek History classes ,but there are newer classics I wouldn’t mind reading.
I didn’t make any book resolutions but I would like to read more this year.
My resolution? Just knocking down my pile of TBR ;0
I just wanted to be able to read more. I have so many books and SOOOO much free time but the computer is the bane of my existence.
To be honest, I took a stopped reading for about a year (I still don’t know how) and one of my resolutions was to start reading again. Of course, I’m going to need some books for that!
I joined a TBR reading challenge, I am really trying to diminish it 😀
I definitely want to read more this year and I also want to read more classics but I feel like I just can’t read them. I would suggest The Giver as one of your first classics you read if you haven’t read it already.
My resolution is to be more patient!
I really need to read more classics as well 😛 but yeah, I guess mine would have to do with reading more of the books on my shelf at the moment! Thanks for the amazing giveaway 😀
That’s a great resolution, I don’t really waned to make one because I don’t want to feel bad if I fail but I am gonna try my best to achieve some of my goals
I didn’t make any reasolutions and unfortunately I have been spending more time reading blogs and entering giveaways than actually reading books. I would like to finish several series, such as Covenant, Lux, and Denazen. Thank you for joining the hop!
I just wanna be happy this year
I joined one challenge so far and joining two soon. I too hope to read more classics and also to finish up some of my series.
I didn’t make an resolutions of any kind
Thanks for the chance to win!
I really, just want to read some new books. I haven’t been reading as much lately. I have a handful of books waiting to be read. I’m just trying to work through them when I can spare the time.
I challenged myself to read 183 books (about two days per book), but I think it’s also a good idea to try and get more classics into the list this year! Recently I tend to read more new releases than I should…
My New Years Resolution is to study more and earn better grades. Then, when I finally graduate, FREEDOM! :D<3
My New Year’s Resolution was to start a blog and I did after a few false starts, lol.
The only reading challenge I made this year was with Goodreads to read 100 books. I joined challenges last year and I finished them but it didn’t actually alter what I read, I just filled in the challenge as I went. So I figured I’d just skip it this year and focus on reading.
As far as book resolutions go I have only one goal in mind: Read as many books as you can handle without getting reader’s block (which I have been trying to overcome since two months now.) And request only those books for review which will absolutely be read and reviewed and not DNF’ed !
I don’t have New Year Resolutions. I’m just not that type.
Thank You for the giveaway!
My resolution is to read more and read a diverse selection of books
nothing specific just try to read more
I didn’t make any.
I want to read some classics too. Top of my list is Catch 22!
I didn’t made an official list, but I kept in mind that I should review more and comment more to other blogs.
I have the same goal! I really want to be able to know what all of these new YA books are based on. Literature is awesome! I also wanted to spend less time on the internet… that one hasn’t worked out too well for me. 😉
I signed up for a few challenges this year! Audiobook, TBR Pile an a few others. I need to work on reviewing more of my own books and not just tours.
I never make them because I know I will break them within the first month xD
My New Years Resolution is to enjoy reading more and be a more relaxed reader without worrying about how many books I get to read this year. Thank you for the giveaway! 😀
I have gotten very overwhelmed with the books I have to review, so I have resolved to focus more on my reading and time management skills.
I made a Goodreads goal of 100 books this year. I always have a goal to read at least 1 classic every year and if a book is based on a classic, I often like to try and read it first (like Alice in Wonderland before I read Splintered or Peter Pan before I read Tiger Lily).
I didn’t make a new years resolution or goal about reading but just to read and love it! Which I already do!
