Welcome to Refracted Light’s
Life Before Legend by Marie Lu (Snippet Review; Dani)
The Midnight Heir by Cassandra Clare (Snippet Review; Heather)
Read/reading this week:
How To Date A Nerd – Cute. I liked it a lot more than another book of the same premise that came out this year as well. Maybe because the heroine was a bit more self aware.
Angelfall – WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THIS BOOK??? It’s fantastic!
Backward Compatible – I. Laughed. So. Hard. A funny, irreverent, as-awesome-as-scoring-a-legendary-drop shoutout to all things nerd. If you enjoy MMORPGs, like WoW or Order & Chaos, you’ll especially enjoy this book. Lots of language/innuendo, however… so, I’d recommend this one to the Upper YA/NA crowd as it technically is an NA.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty – It didn’t wow me, but I can see the potential in it for a larger story.
Neverwas – Not too far in, but it’s AMAZING so far.

Read/Reading this week:
This week I started grad school, so I’ve been primarily reading Geology and Astronomy textbooks, but I did manage to read Pride and Prep School by Stephanie Wardrop which while fun, was not the strongest in that series, and I squeezed in a bit of Neverwas by Kelly Moore, Larkin Reed, and Tucker Reed which is so far, so awesome! =)
To read next week:
I’m hoping to finish up Neverwas, Hero, and Emerald Green. And read more Astronomy, Geology and add in some Reading Methods and Phonics! Wahoo. Grad school is fun!
Happy Reading!
Angelfall! It is so, so good. I can’t wait to read your thoughts (was there supposed to be a review link?) I have read Cruel Beauty and am loving reading trusted blogger opinions on it because they are pretty mixed. curious to see what you’ll think. Great haul and have a great week.
Ooops! I was going to do a snippet of Angelfall, but decided to do Life Before Legend instead at the last minute… and I forgot to edit the post to reflect that. Whoops. 😛 I’ve gotten through the first chapter of Cruel Beauty, and it has the potential to be SO, SO good! Thanks so much for stoping by, Kristen!
