There was a reader who commented in our last Doctor Who Etsy post, “How come nobody gives Christopher Eccleston any love? He did a superb job as Nine!”
And we agreed. So we’re giving Nine some Etsy love.
Eccleston’s Doctor may not have been as immediately charismatic, or funny, or adorkable as David & Matt’s Doctors, but he was no less brilliant. I have a feeling we’ll soon be privy to more information that’ll put his character into a greater context (*SQUEE*), but Nine was the regeneration that really felt the weight and guilt of what he’d done to stop the Time War. The lonely god. The Last of the Time Lords. The result of a Doctor who had to become a warrior and do something terrible to ultimately accomplish the greater good. And so Nine’s Doctor had this underlying current of grief and loss, a quiet (but magnetic) intensity, a heartbreaking vulnerability when he allowed it to crack through his tough exterior, and an endearing goofiness. (Seriously, that smile? It lit him up from the inside out, and made it impossible not to smile right along with him.) Eccleston played this doctor to perfection with a wonderful gravity and subtlety…
And you know what?
Nine really was fantastic.
Whether it be osculating under the mistletoe, apologizing to a fellow Whovian (for possibly skipping Nine or misplacing the Tardis key), or bookmarking your current Nine & Rose adventure, Nine’s (i.e. Amy’s) got you covered.
It’s bigger on the inside. Not really. But all the same, it’s a pretty great bag, yeah?
A good tube of lip balm. Just as invaluable as the Doctor’s sonic.
Finger puppets! Need I say more? I do not.
Whovian buttons. Perfect for achieving your flair quota.
Perfect for keeping your ears warm on your travels through space and time… or on a trip to the grocery store.
The adorable grin might be a bit distracting to your reading progress, but he holds a page like nobody’s business.
This is the third or fourth time I’ve featured Geek My Wall across several different fandom posts. And why? Because they are simply fantastic. (I had to.)
The name of this tea more than speaks for itself.
The Doctor and the Tardis are ready for anything. Even your next scrapbooking project.
He’s a brooch. A brooch!
The Doctors get chummy on this fantastic friendship bracelet. (Seriously, I cannot help myself.)
Possibly the yummiest Dalek (and Tardis) I’ve ever seen. And that’s including the Dalek cookies from the last Etsy post.
Nine and his companions as nesting dolls. NESTING DOLLS!
(For some reason Cap’n Jack being the smallest is hilarious.)
It might be part of the Nestene Consciousness, but I’ll take that chance. A more fantastic pen cup never there was.
*Grabby hands* First of all, mug cozy! Brilliant! Second, I loved that quote. It’s so quintessentially Nine.
Poor Mickey. The Doctor might’ve thought him an idiot, but his nail polish is absolutely fan– … well, you know.
The Oncoming Storm. Yeah. Run you silly, little Daleks, run… and remember.
Who loves you, baby? Me. I do.
Doctor Who cross stitch. Oh, yes. That Tardis is begging to be turned into a bookmark.
Possibly my favorite Rose moment ever… on a bracelet.
My fridge needs companions, and these more than fit the bill.
Falling through space and time together… or running for their lives. Most likely both.

Oh man…these are FANTASTIC! I love Nine…I might have to forward this to my friends and drop hints for my birthday and Christmas lol
LOL! Fantastic indeed. 😉 Glad you enjoyed.
This is the best! I think I said “Oh, I want that!” a million times.
I just started watching the show and I actually started with Nine. I don’t get why everyone isn’t a fan. I love him!
I love all of this. I’m dying for the bag. So awesome! I have just gotten into Doctor Who this last year and started with the 9th Doctor and fell in love with him. Each Doctor has me smitten. So happy to see some love for the 9th. Great post. Now I want to buy ALL the things.
