… and we’re gonna tell you all about it!
1.) MailChimp. Biggest news is that we’ve switched to MailChimp. Unbeknownst to us, our Feedburner newsletter was being sent out with a weird, spammy photo since MAY. I apologize, I didn’t make a practice of checking in on the Feedburner newsletter, because well, I already know what we posted, and it was supposed to be easy and automated and not something I thought I had to check in on regularly, and I’m sorry. We hate spam, and would never purposefully send it to you. Anyway, you might have noticed that there haven’t been any newsletters from us in awhile, and it’s because I couldn’t figure out where that image was coming from so I could get rid of it. So, I’ve been moving things over and trying to figure out MailChimp (which is pretty cool) and trying to get a P.O. Box dedicated to the blog. If you’ve signed up for email updates, you should be receiving our first one today.
Important note #1: If you’ve already signed up for email updates via Feedburner, your info has been migrated to MailChimp. There is no need to sign up again. Also, if you wish to unsubscribe, there’s a link in the newsletter that will allow you to do that.
Important note #2: The newsletter will be sent out twice a week instead of daily. This means we’ll be bugging you less, and there will be less of us cluttering your inbox. Less clutter is always nice, right?
2.) We have a mailing address! We now have a dedicated mailing address just for the blog:
Refracted Light Reviews
31 Gorham Rd.
P.O. Box 981
Scarborough, ME 04070
3.) TBR Take back. You might remember our NetGalley “Git ‘er Done” month we did last November? Well, Heather and I have found that our review piles have gotten a little out of control… again, and we’re taking the month of November to specifically catch up on some of those books. Typically we review a mix of books we’ve received for review and books we’ve read for fun, but starting November 1st, we’re focusing on those books we’ve committed to read and review. So be watching for that!
4.) Short & Sweet Week. We’re bringing it back! Last year we featured an entire week of reviews focused on novellas and short stories that add extra content to an already existing series, and this year we’re continuing that with stories like A.G. Howard’s The Moth in the Mirror and Brodi Aston’s Neverfall… among others! Starts December 9th…
5.) November New Release Giveaway Hop sign-ups. Bloggers, if you’re interested in participating in the November Hop, the sign-ups are open over at BookTwirps through November 10th! I hope you join us!
Ok. I think that’s all the updates I have for y’all! Thanks so much for reading and/or following. Y’all are fantastic!
