“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine.
by Saundra Mitchell
Expected Publication: Feb. 4, 2014
When Willa Dixon’s brother dies on the family lobster boat, her father forbids Willa from stepping foot on the deck again. With her family suffering, she’ll do anything to help out—even visiting the Grey Man.
Everyone in her small Maine town knows of this legendary spirit who haunts the lighthouse, controlling the fog and the fate of any vessel within his reach. But what Willa finds in the lighthouse isn’t a spirit at all, but a young man trapped inside until he collects one thousand souls.
Desperate to escape his cursed existence, Grey tries to seduce Willa to take his place. With her life on land in shambles, will she sacrifice herself?
There’s just something deliciously and inherently creepy about Maine, huh? Currently, finding myself a resident of a sea-side town in Maine and a huge fan of the show Haven (No, I have not run across any Nathan Wournoses or Duke Crockers as of yet. And no, no killer butterflies or man-eating houses or anything like that to report, but I’ll keep y’all posted) AND being a fan of Saundra’s other books, I’m super excited for Mistwalker. I love how conflicting and dark this romance sounds too. Will Grey betray Willa? Or will she, as the blurb asks, sacrifice herself?
This story just sounds so super interesting. Like Atlas with the World on his shoulders. Love and sacrifice. Secrets and curses.
So… what are you looking forward to this Wednesday?
