There are times when Heather, Aly & I finish a book, but don’t have time to write a full comprehensive review… or even a shorter “flashbulb” review. BUT we still want to share our thoughts with you on what we’ve been reading. That’s why every Saturday we’ll be featuring 3 “snippet” reviews — short, sweet, to-the-point reviews that we’ll try to keep to 2-5 sentences. So we hope you enjoy these!!

It took me almost 4 months to finish this book. For some reason, I just never got sucked in; it was easy to put down and hard to pick back up. Janelle and I never really connected. Plus, insta-love, the improbability of her having access to some of the things she had access to, the rather heavy volume of f-bombs, the fact that the whole thing tried just a little too hard and that despite the ever-present countdown I never felt the urgency? I dunno. Unfortunately, It just didn’t quite work for me like I was hoping it would, and I’m undecided as to whether I’ll read the next book.

Wow. This short story made me cry. It was a beautifully poetic, heart wrenching story that gave some history to a character that played a minor but essential role in the Across the Universe world. Highly recommended to lovers of this series, but be prepared for an emotional read.

Excellent beginning. Some parts were kind of predictable, but I did still enjoy it. One-sided insta-love was kind of annoying, but, oh well. I will continue the series.
Happy Reading!
Disappointing about Unraveling! I agree about As They Slip Away, though! It’s what convinced me I wanted to keep reading the series after the first book.
Eh…. you may like Unraveling! A lot of people did… just wasn’t my cup ‘o joe.
And I REALLY need to read Across the Universe!
P.S. – I know I’ve said it before, but I freaking LOVE your blog theme. Adorable… and so well put together.
LOL yay and thank you! If only I’d put it together myself, I could take some of the credit for it. I’m just amazed (and grateful) that it was one of the free ones.
