Welcome to Refracted Light’s
How much do I love, heart and adore Julie Kagawa’s Iron Fey series?
Um… there aren’t enough words in all the languages combined.
Seriously, with The Iron Fey it’s like Julie took a look inside my subconscious saw all things that I love in a story, put it down on paper, and said, “Here you go. Let the fangirling commence!” Ok. Not really. But let’s just say that not many series rock my socks the way The Iron Fey does.
And speaking of sock-rocking, not many book boys rock my socks like Ice Boy…er… I mean Prince Ash. (Puck is a close second. Love both those boys.) So when this bit of awesomeness you’re about to read popped into my inbox the other day. Well. I will neither confirm or deny, buuuuuut, there might have been a little bit of squealing and monumentally uncoordinated happy dancing.
And why, you may ask? Well it’s a scene from Ash’s POV entitled “The First Kiss.”
You’re fangirling now too, aren’t you? It’s ok. Just take a second and get it all out. I completely understand. Now go read it. Go on. You know you’re dying to.

Meghan Chase has a secret destiny; one she could never have imagined.
Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change.
But she could never have guessed the truth – that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she’ll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face; and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

Julie Kagawa was born in Sacramento, California. But nothing exciting really happened to her there. So, at the age of nine she and her family moved to Hawaii, which she soon discovered was inhabited by large carnivorous insects, colonies of house geckos and frequent hurricanes. She spent much of her time in the ocean, when she wasn’t getting chased out of it by reef sharks, jellyfish and the odd eel. To pay the rent, Julie worked in different bookstores over the years, but discovered the managers frowned upon her reading the books she was supposed to be shelving. So she turned to her other passion: training animals. She worked as a professional dog trainer for several years, dodging Chihuahua bites and overly enthusiastic Labradors, until her first book sold and she stopped training to write full-time. Julie now lives in Louisville, Kentucky, where the frequency of shark attacks are at an all-time low. She lives with her husband, two obnoxious cats, one Australian shepherd who is too smart for his own good and the latest addition, a hyperactive Papillon puppy.

I LOVE the iron fey series! 😀
I’d suggest that they spend time away from the courts whenever they could, take things slow and enjoy each other.
Take your time!!! Enjoy to the fullest 😀
My Dating advice is to never underestimate each other
Love this series
What an amazing giveaway! The Iron Fey series is my favorite
I can’t wait to see what happens with Ash and Megan’s son!
The Iron Fey is my favorite series!
Oh my!!! I LOVED IT!!! Thank you so much for that scene!!!
Ash!!! <3
I love this Ash POV! They are one of my favorite couples. My advice: be honest. You can’t truly be loved if you aren’t truly you.
EEEEEP! That was so sweet! I swear, I never fail to fangirl whenever something about Ash or Puck comes up. I just love the Iron Fey series so much! That was so awesome
I’ve only read the first book, so the only advice that I can give is to kiss Ash more!
Less talking, more kissing! >=D
I read every books in the Iron Fey series. It just keep getting better and better. My advise is trust one’s another even at the grimmest situation.
Hmm, I think I’d give advise to Puck, since the other two are doing SO well (yeah, i’ve read all the books!)
Puck has to be himself! The ever prankster will one day prank the right girl, you’ll see.
OMG I LOVE THIS SERIES!! My advise… don’t fall in love with the enemy unless you’re willing to give everything up
thanks for the awesome giveaway! I’d say trust your heart/gut and get to know the other person!
Never give up
Communicate openly and honestly (and often), at least with the person you desire!
Be careful in such a world
THAT WAS AWESOME! I love getting inside Ash’s head *sigh*
Hi! Thanks for this chance! I guess the best advise would be to stay away from the Courts but in such world, no one is really hiding! Stay strong!
Okay…..so I kinda was fangirling the entire time I was reading that! Ash = MAJOR SWOONING ! =d
I loved the First Kiss attachment. I haven’t gotten to start this series yet but I am hoping to this year. It seems like it’s been on my TBR list forever. Since I haven’t read it I wouldn’t want to give dating advice to the characters because I’m sure the advice would have to be character specific.
I’m old school, be a gentleman!!
I have the first book, but I have yet to read it (I know, right?!)… so my advice is simply COMMUNICATE! Never cease communicating. Communication is key, in my opinion.
Thanks!
Awesome goodness!
i love Ash so much and reading this scene from his pov is just… Thank you!
Squeeness! I can imagine your reaction when you saw this in your mailbox 😉
Sadly I have no clue what so ever.
I don’t know about these characters yet, but for Ash I would suggest that it’s best to NOT be thinking about somebody else when you’re kissing another girl.
Be yourself
I guess
My advice would be to be honest, and be yourself =)
Hmmm I think I would tell them to date other Iron Fey because of the obvious. And take your time because you all have a lot of time!!
Take the time to get to know and enjoy each other away from the distractions and drama of the courts!
Don’t cheat! Love the person you are with all your heart. But also let each other do your own thing so it’s not a suffocating relationship 😀
