Baalboden has been ravaged. The brutal Commander’s whereabouts are unknown. And Rachel, grief stricken over her father’s death, needs Logan more than ever. With their ragged group of survivors struggling to forge a future, it’s up to Logan to become the leader they need—with Rachel by his side. Under constant threat from rival Carrington’s army, who is after the device that controls the Cursed One, the group decides to abandon the ruins of their home and take their chances in the Wasteland.
But soon their problems intensify tenfold: someone—possibly inside their ranks—is sabotaging the survivors, picking them off one by one. The chaos and uncertainty of each day puts unbearable strain on Rachel and Logan, and it isn’t long before they feel their love splintering. Even worse, as it becomes clear that the Commander will stop at nothing to destroy them, the band of survivors begins to question whether the price of freedom may be too great—and whether, hunted by their enemies and the murderous traitor in their midst, they can make it out of the Wasteland alive.
In this daring sequel to Defiance, with the world they once loved forever destroyed, Rachel and Logan must decide between a life on the run and standing their ground to fight.
This book sounds painful… and I CAN’T WAIT. Does that make me a bad person? lol Person of questionable character? The characters in this series are really well conceived and Redwine already pushed Rachel & Logan to rather dark places in book one… I can only imagine how much worse it’s going to be in this one and I’m excited about all the delicious character and relationship development that will hopefully ensue.
Bring on the drama!

Rough and tumble Saturday Woodcutter thinks she’s the only one of her sisters without any magic—until the day she accidentally conjures an ocean in the backyard. With her sword in tow, Saturday sets sail on a pirate ship, only to find herself kidnapped and whisked off to the top of the world. Is Saturday powerful enough to kill the mountain witch who holds her captive and save the world from sure destruction? And, as she wonders grumpily, “Did romance have to be part of the adventure?” As in Enchanted, readers will revel in the fragments of fairy tales that embellish this action-packed story of adventure and, yes, romance.
I really loved the first book in this series, Enchanted, and have wanted to see what happened to the rest of Sunday’s sisters. And seriously, who doesn’t love a good pirate/magical adventure tale?
So… what are you looking forward to this Wednesday?
I haven’t read Defiance yet. I tried Enchanted but I couldn’t really get into the writing style. Love the covers!
My WOW
I listened to Enchanted on audiobook (and I know Heather did too) and the narrator is just amazing. She really makes the book. Maybe it would’ve been different if I had just read it though… although I kinda just liked the quirky, weird, fluffiness of it all. lol Thanks for stopping by!
That cover for Deception is gorgeous. I still need to read Defiance.
Hero also sounds really cute! Looks like I need to add that series to my tbr list, too.
Oh, you do. You really do. 😉 Defiance is a fantastic book!
These are both books I can’t wait to read as well. There are some great books coming out this year! Here’s my WOW from yesterday.
It’s true. So many great books that I don’t even know what to do with myself! 😉
